Local MP Shaun Bailey has visited Stephens Gaskets, a West-Midlands based company recently. The visit was to thank them for their initiative and support during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Shaun Bailey MP for West Bromwich West, made a socially distanced visit to Stephens Gaskets in Oldbury. During the Coronavirus crisis the company has dedicated part of its production facilities to manufacturing CE marked face visors. The reusable face shields are ideal for front line workers and businesses across the UK. Some of these have been donated to NHS facilities and care homes in an effort to support the PPE shortage.
Mr Bailey was given a tour of the factory and production lines by the Senior Engineer, Piers Baynton. Mr Bailey praised the company for taking measures to keep employees safe. At the same time, for doing their part to help the country return to work safely.
Piers said: “It was a pleasure for Stephens Gaskets to host Shaun Bailey MP and show him the scale to which we have been working to help support our country. The visit gave us the opportunity to explain the work we do at Stephens Gaskets. Including donations of reusable face shields to the NHS.
“We currently have production capacity for 2 million reusable Face Shields per month. And we’ll continue to do this for as long as required.”
Resuable Face Shields
Stephens Gaskets created the face visors to ensure that the PPE provided was not only safe, but also comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Already a leading UK manufacturer and plastics supplier, they repurposed part of their West Midlands based factory to enable the design and manufacture of EN166 certified and CE marked PPE face visors to support the ongoing pandemic.
